Wednesday Jan 19, 2022
Wednesday Jan 19, 2022
Spiritual growth is an important part of any Christian’s journey of faith. But how does it actually happen? Some believers think it is a product of better behavior, intellectual pursuits, or felt experience. Dane Ortlund argues that all three are good, but real growth transcends them all.
In today’s episode, you’ll hear how Christians grow when they go deeper into the gospel and fix their eyes on Jesus. According to Dane Ortlund, to experience this, you must bring what you do and say and even feel into line with what, in fact, you already are — united with Christ.

#60: Brandon Kimber Deconstructs the Prosperity Gospel
Wednesday Dec 29, 2021
Wednesday Dec 29, 2021
Scripture has been interpreted many different ways over the years, but how can you tell the difference between false gospels and the one Jesus lived and taught?
Brandon Kimber, the director of the American Gospel documentary series, argues that the gospel is simple, but we sometimes like to make it complicated by adding on to what Jesus said and did. He also discusses how the modern gospel being preached within the prosperity gospel (the Word of Faith movement) has become corrupted with promises of “the American dream” of health, wealth, and prosperity.
In this interview, you'll hear Brandon Kimber describe his own experiences within this movement and why it’s important to hold firm to a gospel that simply comes down to Christ alone.

#59: Christmas Special: The Son of David
Wednesday Dec 22, 2021
Wednesday Dec 22, 2021
Why do the gospels of Luke and Matthew begin with someone’s family tree? Why is it so important that Jesus come from the line of David?
Looking at the gospels as well as the prophets of old, Charles Morris seeks to answer these questions about the lineage of Christ. The stunning answers show us that Christmas isn’t just something that happened unexpectedly — it was planned by God, foretold in the Old Testament, and fulfilled by Jesus.
